Mass State Police Tactical Athlete Seminar
We started the value-packed seminar with the basic strength building concepts Pavel teaches in Power to the People. If you don’t already have a copy of Pavel’s book, click on the Dragon Door link on our webpage and get one. It is a must read for anyone who desires functional and wiry strength.
We finished off the first day with traditional slow strength Kettlebell lifts. As Jeff puts it, “the difference is in the details.” Day #2 began with traditional kettlebell lifts suitable for high repetition routines. It wasn’t long before we were across the street onto beautiful Revere Beach for the Hand-2-Hand segment. We covered many drills in a short amount of time. Although their spirits were willing; their hands were not. Blisters put a little kink into things, but Jeff had just the cure for raw hands – the Tactical Grips! Just when they thought they couldn’t swing that Kettlebell any longer - Jeff made a way. One Tactical Grip attached to a kettlebell allows you to continue one-arm swings without further wear on your hands. The benefit of adding the Tactical Grip attachment is that the rotation (and thereby, the friction) of the handle in your palm is eliminated. The pivotal rotation occurs inside the Tactical Grip handle. If you have a pair of Tactical Grips, go grab one and try it for yourself. Men, you’ll love it; ladies, you’ll despise it!
Many of you were surprised that someone could create an entire dvd on pull up training when Jeff came out with the T.A.P.S. dvd. You may be interested to know that Jeff is ready to shoot T.A.P.S. Volume II this month. The use of each accessory will be fully explored as well as showing how the T.A.P.S. replaces the need of many other pieces of exercise equipment. We’ll keep you posted on the expected release dates of the new products. To conclude the two-day seminar, we ran the guys through several high repetition routines. The guys stayed strong ‘til the end by drinking gallons of fluids and literally taking water breaks - in the ocean. The wonderful benefits for training on the beach!
You may be wondering how the Tactical Athlete seminars differ from our other courses and workshops. The Tactical Athlete seminars are custom-designed courses that typically include a little of everything we do. The material depends on who is being trained and the level of experience of the students. T.A.T.S. offers Tactical Athlete courses that are one to five days long. Some are exclusive to military, law enforcement, fire fighters, and EMS. Others are open to everyone. For more information, you may contact Jeff directly @ jeff@tacticalathlete.com. For a list of 3 hour workshops, including T.A.P.S. training, kettlebell training, and Hand-2-Hand Kettlebell Drills, e-mail me @ maureen@tacticalathlete.com. Stay tuned to our seminar page for future course dates and locations. We update our seminar page frequently, so check often!
